この度、ギャラリーヘプタゴンではリトアニアのテキスタイルアーティスト、 ライマ、モニカ、リナの3人展を開催いたします。
西陣織や京友禅といったテキスタイルの歴史を持つ京都・西陣において、 異なる文化を持つリトアニアのアーティストとの比較と対話を通じ、 互いの共通項やテキスタイルアートの多様性や普遍性を再考します。
この展覧会が日本とリトアニアのテキスタイルアートでの交流を通して、 相互に新たなインスピレーションを創出する機会となれば幸いです。
Laima Orzekauskiene - Ore
リトアニアのビリニュス出身のLaima Orzekauskiene - Ore(ライマ)は、クラシックとアバンギャルドを組み合わせた独自の創作原理で知られています。彼女は、白黒の写真に刺繍を施したり、バルトのオーナメントを人物の顔や姿に重ねたりして、女性の存在や生命の価値、身体のテーマを表現しています。
彼女はヴィリニュス芸術アカデミーの教授で、リトアニア共和国芸術家連合のメンバーでもあり、日本・インド・オーストリア・デンマーク・イタリアなどの国で個展を開催しています。カウナス芸術ビエンナーレの委員会の一員でもあります。彼女は、国際テキスタイルビエンナーレでの賞を含む多数の賞を受賞し、国内外で高い評価を得ています。

Monika Grasiene -Zalte
Monika Grasiene-Zalte(モニカ)はリトアニアのカウナスに拠点を置くテキスタイルアーティストで、ライマと同じくヴィリニュス芸術アカデミーで准教授をつとめ、独自の技法で布や糸を使って抽象的な作品を制作しています。彼女は、色彩や形、質感などを駆使して、自然や人間の感情を表現しています。彼女の作品は、テキスタイルアートの可能性を広げるものであるといえるでしょう。 彼女の作品は、リトアニアやヨーロッパの他の国で展示、コレクションされています。

Lina Jonike
Lina Jonike(リナ)も同じくヴィリニュス芸術アカデミー准教授です。
彼女は写真に刺繍を施した作品を制作し、写真の中の人物や風景に糸で色や形を加えることで、ユニークで新しい表現を生み出しています。彼女の作品はリトアニアや日本などで展示されたり、本に収録されたりしています。2013年にはライマと共に京都・GALLERY GALLERYにて展覧会を開催しました。

1978 – 1985 Studied at the Department of Textiles, Kaunas Art Institute, Vilnius Art Academy.
CAREER:
1987 Lecture of the Department of Textiles, Kaunas Art Institute, Vilnius Art Academy.
1996 -2007 Heard of Textile Department of Kaunas Art Institute. Since
2006 Professor of Vilnius Art Academy, Kaunas Art Institute.
2005 Heard of the Board of Kaunas Art Biennial.
